A GB sprinter who trains in Hornchurch has been named a "sporting champion".
Eugene Amo-Dadzie, 33, trains at Harrow Lodge Leisure Centre and is one of 34 Havering athletes selected for the 2025 Sporting Champions scheme, run by leisure operator Everyone Active.
The programme offers free access to top-tier facilities, expert mentoring, and practical support to help athletes reach their potential.
Amo-Dadzie represented Team GB at the 2024 World Athletics Relays, helping secure a bronze medal in the men’s relay.
He said: "This scheme has been invaluable.
"I make use of Everyone Active centres up and down the country to supplement my track sessions.
"Whether it's using the lifting platforms or functional training areas or using the sauna and pool facilities, Sporting Champions has been an absolute game changer to ensuring consistent access to high-quality facilities helping me perform at my best."
